ACUPUNCTURE Education
While a student at Boston University, I completed a study abroad program in Nepal where became interested in Eastern Medicine. I returned from Nepal and spent two years studying under Dr. Vasant Lad at The Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico and in 2007 completed my Master’s degree at Southwest Acupuncture College in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
While completing my Masters, I chose to undertake mentorship with Dr. Jeffrey Meyer in Kototama Inochi Medicine, a unique form of diagnosis and treatment originated by Masahilo Nakazono Sensei. This form of medicine is passed directly from student to teacher and requires years of relationship with a teacher, study, inquiry and practice. I spent over 800 direct clinical hours studying alongside Dr. Meyer and have continued as a dedicated student of Kototama Inochi Medicine for over 20 years.
Personal
I grew up in Gorham, Maine and lived in Boston, New Mexico and Hawai'i before returning to my home state in 2008. I am an enthusiastic writer, paddler, farmhouse-renovator, knitter and self-professed “birth-nerd”. I currently reside on Mt. Desert Island with my artist husband and two busy teenage sons who spend their time climb rocks and flying airplanes.
